I too have been "active" status for the past few years and heard nothing. My times are good I think.
8.5K TT
4K 121PIC
Heavy jet international cargo experience
Degree
Age 38
no internal though. just don't know anyone there that i've flown with before.
I wonder if taking the Flight engineer test would help my app any? Its not that hard right

In my almost 30 years experience of airline flying, the one thing that I've noticed being a constant over those years is this:
- There seldom seems to be a rhyme and reason to determine who they call and who they don't, from us on the outside looking in. With things going they way they are at Atlas, I'm guessing there are many apps in from those very qualified 744/748/767 guys as well.
Not sure how much the UPS hiring process is by a computer "sort" of qualifications vs hand selected for interview. It may be both (?)
I've seen several of my ex Air Force buddies who were "good sh*ts" and had everything but the lunar landing not get called, yet the weakest guy in the squadron got hired by the then most sought after airline in the country (He got based in ATL).
I just submitted my app to Big Brown a month to 6 weeks ago showing active but it's still early in the process for me. But I do feel relatively qualified with 16K TT and 9 years of int'l wide body left seat time, military and 4 year degree (I am however, an "old fart" at 58 "-) So... genuinely hoping for the opportunity for interview at UPS, but as I mentioned..... there is just no rhyme and reason to the hiring game.
Keep being persistent but patient in your goals, folks. Your perseverance will be rewarded at some point.

There where two 58 y/o newhires in the Jan. 30, 2017 class and a 59 y/o in the Jan. 3, 2017 class.
Stay positive, UPS hires "old farts".

Hey, it's in everyone's best interests to hire older guys, for flying airliners. The older guys: 1) usually come with a ton of flying time and experience; 2) in many cases, they've flown the same equipment at an earlier airline; 3) they'll get paid as a new guy, saving the company $$; 4) because of their age, they won't have much of an impact on retirement monies, which the company has to hold in reserve; 5) as all new hires, they usually have a great attitude, and understand the job they've been offered and accepted. 6) all in all, it's a great deal for everyone involved. A real life Win/Win.
Congratulations to all concerned.

I'm old and I'm retired. But UPS was my second, and second to last airline I worked for. It's always a thrill to get hired, anywhere, at any age. I can only imagine how fortunate your "older" new hire guys feel. I'm happy for them. The younger ones too.
