The ANC commute sucks now, just wait till they really start hiring guys for ANC with new 74's. Guys will really have to look at buying tickets I suspect. I know several guys have really got into trouble for commute issues.

With the economy about ready to crash up here, they would be crazy to move up here and buy a house. I foresee a repeat of the 80's up here were house prices fell 40%. The state has a 6 billion dollar budget and is 3 short now. The reserve runs out next year and if oil is not at $100 they can not break even. Income taxes are likely along with rising prop tax. A friends home is 380K and pays $5800. Add to that crash pads are already short.

Add to that the MD will retire with little warning sometime in future and the displacements will be the rule of the day. A repeat of DC-8 fiasco. If you get ANC wait 18 months and bid out and in the meantime buy one way tickets to cover your butt.
