Last winter we're headed up north to Kotzebue, all the engines are purring along nicely and the engineer calls attention to the number 1 oil quantity which is gradually moving downwards. The quantity keeps diminishing until we are forced to feather it at top of descent. Once we were on the ground I dipped the tank and found only 2 gallons showing down from 30 gallons that we left Anchorage with. The top of the wing looked like the Exxon Valdez ran aground up there. The really interesting thing is that in spite of the cracked cylinder the engine kept running beautitully. Nothing like good WW2 technology I guess.

Standard day 2400 hp @ 2800rpm and 59.5 inches x 4 engines... We are the loudest airplane in Anchorage. It always amuses me when tower sends us off of runway 14 at 4am over the "luxury" homes in the sand lake gravel pit.

Next time I'm at work, I'll take a pic or two of some of our 737 engines....filthy, but more importantly, people scribble funny messages into the grime for the next station down the line to see. Usually ragging on a sports team or the like.
(then of course there are the absolutely disrespectful inscriptions written inside the bins by the East)

FOD,
I would suspect that you are envied by most of the guys on this forum. You get to fly one hell of an airplane in one of the most beautiful places on earth (demonstrated by the pictures you have posted).
I would also suspect that if you looked up "freight dawg" in the dictionary, there would be a picture of you.
You have the ball.
