Nice shot, where was this taken at?

There was a dork jet at KLAF today...looks like it could be there but I can't really tell.

jbush27 10-31-2008 12:09 PM

Yeah, that's KLAF. You can see Lilly in the background of the first pic.

The volleyball team used to charter a 328Jet, but it would park at the terminal instead of the LafAv ramp.

I always wondered whether these jets are noisy inside. I had a professor in aerospace school that used to advise against hanging turbojet engines under the wings if it's a high wing passenger jet. Dash 8's and other regional props do this, and it pretty noisy in there.

I flew on the Avro RJ's operated by Mesaba and those things were probably the most comfortable and quiet RJ I've ever been on (considering I'm 6'5")

I flew on the 328's Skyway used to operate out of MKE twice, and each time it was a decent ride... Once was crazy cause of bad weather, but otherwise nice rides in all of em...

I think I saw you out here taking those pictures the other day. Were you with a friend? I was taxiing in in a 172R at the time. Nice pictures, I like the Dork Jet...different kind of airplane than you normally see.

Unfortunately, I was alone. All my friends were in class (all I have on Fridays is a 7:30 flight, so I did some spotting after that :)).

I think that your 172R may be taxiing in front of the "Dork Jet" :D:D in the second shot.

It looks kind of like an old lego set i had.. hehe I think its pretty cool lookin'

Dubes 11-01-2008 08:45 PM

The only downside I see to this jet is for the unlucky passengers who have to sit next to the engine.

Traineee 11-01-2008 09:56 PM

It's like a baby C-17

Planespotta 11-02-2008 08:44 AM

I have to agree with Traineee . . . I think it's one of the sharpest-looking RJs out there

swaayze 11-03-2008 10:31 AM

And a blast to fly!

Pilotpip 11-03-2008 06:00 PM

Too bad it can't get out of its own way :)

......in a descent.

IndyAir Guy 11-06-2008 07:37 AM

I have almost 3000 pic in the 328jet and loved every minute flying it. it was way over powered and had a great high lift wing so if you ever got in trouble you would just hit TOGA and thrust your way out of most situations. The avionics are great and the cabin is not loud at all. The pax loved it. Only down side is it is slow MMO 0.68 In the North East thats not a big deal because ATC slows you most of the time or the legs are short so it doesnt make a big difference but if your flying far its not that stellar. The most fun I ever had with my pants on was an empty TOGA takeoff, you would have to pitch up to 23 degrees so as not to over speed the flaps.

Even at medium weights, it could do it in the climb all the way up.
