I've heard the 1900 is a blast to fly . . . 4000 ft/min climbs not uncommon. Can anyone here testify to that?
Nice shots. I've always liked how that plane looks

That plane IS pretty cool looking. ERA flies them here in Alaska.

Maybe if you speed up to Vmo and then pull up, then yeah, but a normal climb. I don't ever recall hitting 4000FPM, but the last time I flew one was about a year ago, so I should probably just keep my mouth shut.

I used to work for a 1900 operator.....and I kid you not, one of the pilots "*claims*" that it'll do 2000fpm on one engine with a light load. Still haven't confirmed this, though.

I know the thing is pretty powerful, though. I think 1379shp per side on a plane with a max gross of around 17,000lbs. Rode on a few empty flights and some mx flights and acceleration was very brisk to say the least.

Though my favorite would have to be screaming down the runway on the deck in an empty 1900 for a fantastic zoom climb at the very end of 25R at PHX. (both pilots were friends of mine). Wild ride!
