Default Misc. DC-6 Shots Part 2

Here's the other three shots. Found out you can only have three per posting. Obviously, I'm a 'newbie' here!

Airman's Halo -

Front Office -

Ramp somewhere out in Iowa I think. -

That's it.

OK, I'm younger than I thought. What is the orange thing in the cockpit shot? Early radar/strikefinder?

Thanks much for the pics. I remember taking DC-6Bs from PHL to MIA back in my University of Miami days, before the 727s and 720s replaced them.

As I said in Part 1, I wasn't smart enough back then to try and preserve what would eventually become the past. Sorry. I've got three more here and that's about it that are worth bothering with.

That's the radar scope. There was a hood you could put on it for viewing in bright conditions.

Sounds like a similar career to mine only I started with Eastern not Capital. Flew the Connies there and the 6/7, 737 and DC-8 with the "Friendly" out of YIP and ORD.

1 & 2 -

Worth sharing or not, they're fantastic. The quality only adds to the nostalgia. Have you considered taking the prints to a reputable photo shop and having them preserved to digital media?

Started with Eastern and the quit and went with United? Why?

I remember all the big recips on the ramp at ATL. Delta, Eastern, Piedmont, Southern, Northwest, United but early on no American.

Well.....I was (still am) psychic !!

As you can see, UAL outlasted EAL. Although I have my doubts about many of the carriers nowadays!
