All of these, with the exception of the 747 nose, were taken wth my trusty old Canon G7 point and shoot.

Did the one of the silver 747 take a lightning strike, hence those marks up the side?

I was in an aircraft that took one, looked like about every five feet somebody had shot it with a shotgun.
