Default AFW Air Show

I was there as a flight school exhibitor over the weekend. Couldn't pass up an opportunity to fly in and avoid the $20 parking fee. Boy did I feel like a small fish in a huge pond though.

Here are a few of my shots from the practice runs on Friday.

Nice pictures multipilot! Did you enjoy the Super Hornet demo? #7's brother is in my current squadron and LT Tomlinson is the wife of a former instructor in my squadron.

Thats pretty cool that you know those guys/gals. Just proves again that this is a small world.

Naval aviation (and then even smaller - the Marine side of it) is a very small world. Reputations follow and will most certainly arrive before you do!

I've had former instructors, classmates, squadronmates, students, and current acquaintances all serve with the Blue Angels. For example - I flew a flight yesterday with CAPT Silkey (former LCDR Silkey - Blue Angel #3).
Meeting the Blue Angels
We also have CAPT Mannix going through recurrency training (to use a civilian term) and former Boss CAPT Foley is my current boss' boss
Lordy - I'm feeling surrounded now that I think of it!

Is that an air-to-air photo with that F-model hornet? And if so, how'd you get that shot??

Great photos, too! That A-10 is from just down the street from me, so to speak (355th, Davis Monthan AFB, in Tucson).

Also have to agree on the Super Hornet demo....easily more entertaining and impressive than anything else out there short of the F-22.

Are there any other jets excluding the F-22 that have as good high alpha performance as the Hornet? Based purely off what I've witnessed, I can't think of anything off the top of my head. Awesome stuff.

At last I get to ask something that has been bugging me.

On the superhornet, is there a see through line of panels on the nose gear door and if so, why?

Thank you all for the comments. I'll have more to post later on.

No that's not an air-to-air... although how cool would that be? Thanks for the complements.
