Years of practice.
(sorry...pet peeve of mine... the camera and lens don't take the image.. the photographer does...
however.. I did have a little help from Nikon (D300 & 70-200F2.8VR with a 1.7x extender)).

No I am not saying that.
However, I could put a $15,000 Hasselblad in the hands of an average shooter and it will often look much like the results from any old point and shoot.
Take a look at what some pros are doing with an I-Phone camera.. it'll blow your mind.
