Default B-17 at TIW

I thought I saw a B-17 turn final for the local field this afternoon. I grabbed the camera and headed over just in time to see him getting ready to leave.
Second [different] flying B-17 I've seen in a month!

Awesome!

I woulda gone out there myself, but I've got two interns working for me now. Today's lesson was espresso, doppio, crema, and knock box.

Addendum: I see this is my 4000th post. I need to get a life!

I'm 25 posts ahead of you and thinking the same thing!

Thanks! I was about 30 yards away behind a crowd control rope (standing in the shadow of a B-24 that was parked in front of him). As you can see, it was one those trademark Seattle overcast days which made it hard to get any interesting shadows.

I guess I've got a thing for snapping pics of those radials starting. I was looking through my Flickr feed and found this one from 2 years ago.

Default B-17 @ Luk

There was a 17 at Lunken, Cincinnati last weekend. $430/30 minute ride.

I took the ride on the EAA's B-17 a few years ago. It was $400 for about 30 minutes. Worth every cent.

Well heat waves aren't as exciting as burps, bangs, and possible flames!

At TIW there was a P-51 selling 30 mins for $2,200 or 60 mins for $3,400. I think those were the right prices. Might be off by a few hundred
