Girlfriend's First Flight

I took my girlfriend up in a 150 on Sunday. She has never flown in a small plane before. It was pretty bumpy and got some nice gusts on final so she was glad to be back on the ground. Winds were 030 at 12G16. Good times...

Hey that was neat. I'll be watching the Emmies in case it comes up. Thanks for sharing!

That's one of the things I miss about being up north (everything is North of Florida) is the fall colors. Nice work.

Even the colors don't make flying around non-stop central illinois pretty or interesting... Only good time is around May or June for the few months things are green.

Dude - who cares about the colors... it's freezing up here right now!

Good video...although I think you were about 10,000HP short of needing a pattern that size :D

lol, yeah I do make huge patterns still. I guess I got used to it from training that way. It worked out because I was way high when I turned final. I hadn't been in a plane for 2 months prior so overall I was content.

Watching that brings back a ton of memories. I'm an SIU grad and remember spending countless hours over that part of the country doing pattern and maneuver work. Great video!

There is a great video floating around somewhere about wide patterns by a CFI. It may have even been posted here. If I remember right it was comical yet informative.
