Crew Cars

One little perk of flying in GA is getting to use the crew car, and it is always an adventure finding out what kind of contraption the local FBO considers a roadworthy vehicle. I thought it might be cool to start a Crew Car thread. I have driven everything from a Hummer H2 in Greenville, MS., to lots of ex-police Crown Vic's that are at every airport in the Mid-West, to the fine example below, the world famous Flower Aviation Pontiac 6000 in Salina, KS. Feel free to ad your favorite airport loaner!

Johns Island - Charleston Executive KJZI

I wish I had a photo. '80s station wagon with 4/50 air conditioning. 4 windows down and 50 mph.

They have a courtesy boat at Marathon Jet Center MTH... or at least they used to if you asked for it!

A mid-90s Ford Tempo in McAlester, OK. Power everything, none of which worked. Non-working radio. No working gauges.

Also another Oklahoma gem, in Elk City, OK got an old, old Ford F-100 that was a three speed column shift. That was fun.

When I was doing charter I used to love going into Million Air in Addison, TX. Always treated great and the BMWs, Navigators, and Escalades were a nice touch.

Elk City has upgraded. You got a choice now; Ex police Crown Vic, or a 1990's Buick. And the keys are always in the bush out side the door of the FBO!

Ah that's good to know. Though driving that thing did add a little bit of character to an otherwise normal day! :D

This is a great idea for a on going thread! Wish I had a picture to add. Had a crew car once that would just quit while you were driving so you had to quick put it in neutral and restart it. That was fun:eek:

Millionaire at Topeka had a Jag some time back. Not sure what it is now. I'll get in on this thread with some pictures if I get anything interesting in the near future. Good idea LTM!
