Synopsis The glider was in a low level final turn to land when it stalled, departed controlled flight and crashed onto the runway. One Safety Recommendation was made.

He had just done 3 aileron rolls while on tow under a 500 foot cloud base. At the end of the the third roll he developed a slack rope, released and made a 180 to land on the runway he had just flown down. He found himself too high, flew 3400 feet down the runway and made most of another 180 to try to land.
