Default TA-4J Aggressor: VC-8 Red Star One Model

After a year and one month I finally finished my 1/48th scale of my TA-4J Aggressor. The aircraft is painted in a camo scheme that replicates VC-8, Red Star One.

I used Eduard photo-etched parts to enhance the cockpit and to add a little spice to the model. The RBF tags add a nice touch too.

This is only my second model, so I still have a ways to go, and a lot of little tricks to learn to make my models look even better. I apologize if the photos aren't the best. I had to use the camera from my phone

Enjoy everyone!

The plane looks faded - like it has been sitting out in the sun too long.
The side looks dirty and stained. There is a ring around what looks like a cap on the right wing. The inside of the speedbrakes look like they could use a wash.

PERFECT undflyboy06!
You really captured the look of Naval Aviation.
Bravo.

Nice job! Great detailing in the gear areas. Looks 'tired' but ready to go! Very realistic.

Great model! I'm trying to get back into it myself. Someone gave me a 1:48 DC-3 and C-47 last week and I'd like to finish up the flaps on my 1:144th 747. Do you go over to the forum at fine scale?

jsfBoat,

Sorry that it's been a while since I noticed your post.

I just recently discovered FineScale Modeler. I have been doing a little research on that site for my next model. I'm going to try the hairspray technique with acrylic paint to simulate realistic chips and war damage for my Luftwaffe aircraft, since it was 1945 at the end of the war.

I have been using Youtube extensively also to pick up tips on how others weather their aircraft.
