Default Navy P-8/P-3

Snapped a few shots at the field while the new P-8 and old P-3 were here on static display. Man, I hope I get selected for Maritime Patrol. That P-3 is an old pig but I'm sure it rides just as smooth as the '58 Beech I did my multi training in. A brand new 737-800 as your first airframe isn't a bad day either.

A few more: EC-2 Hawkeye, impressive props. And a little aircraft known as the Super Hornet.

It's not really an -800 when the P-3 guys are training you... from what I've heard...

What's that antenna just aft of the P-3's overhead escape hatch?

The camera is just a Cannon PowerShot, I would someday like to get into real photography though.

I'm not sure what the antenna is on top. I can't find any specific information because there's so many variants. The pilots did say that this was one of the newer P-3's, built in the 70's.

I'd be curious if these words have ever been said in the history of Naval Aviation.

P-3's, the SWO's of the aviation community.

I had classmates who were all about MPRA from day one...they did mid cruises and found out about TDY and per diem.

But yeah I know what you mean about the last part...

They must have left out the part about doing disassociated sea tours.

It's the Navy, you're going to go to sea. Best way to do it is as an aircrew and not ships company. You'd have to pay a hell of a lot of per diem to soak up the suck that brings.
