You can do it with two Captains and one FO.

Yeah, actually that is what it is going to be. What do people usually use to make it work 10/5? what type of schedule is normal?

We were doing 2 weeks on, 1 off. Some companies will do 20 and 10 days off. The longer the rotation, the cheaper it will be for the company, with regards to air fair for positioning the crew.

We are pretty easy. Two weeks (14 days) on, one week off. If anyone of us needs a special day off, we just trade days around. We are a close-knit crew that has worked together for 13 years plus, so we know what's important to who. If a trip spans a crew rotation, we discuss it among the one going off duty and the one coming on, and then decide who will get the extra duty.

We fly a lot of weekends, and have found if we do crew changes mid-week, we have fewer interruptions in the schedule.

We will also use contract crew for those times when there are two of us that need the same date.

Part 91 department with an understanding owner makes this possible.

Thanks,

This is a day trip only type of thing and a third pilot would be coming on, I was thinking a 10/5 would work, but an overlapping 14 and 7 would work as well.

Does anyone know of any type of pilot rotation scheduling software that would automatically generate schedules?

I use the human brain coupled to Excel via the keyboard/mouse interconnect.
...But....A World Wide Web search will revel links to many "shift worker programs" (ems, fire, police) that can be slightly modified to your operation.

It's cheaper and easier just to use excel
