FedEx ?

Hmmmm......no 'trade offs' or concessions? that would be odd, as we have it on the impeccable authority of the foremost alpa experts that this would be an impossibility.
Im just waiting to hear what our boss had to give up to get that 22% pay raise he just got.......its GOT to be gigantic.

[QUOTE=Army80;1960734]Anyone want to compare our failed TA to the FedEx TA?
The only detail I got (from my sister in law; a 757 Capt @ FedEx) was a 10% pay bump and that it was a 6 year contract.
If that's true, the pay aspect seems to be about where we would have been with the 8% increase. I was hoping that their deal would have raised the bar much higher.
The pay raise may be near the same, ( Delta/FedEx ) but how about the monthly guarantee!!
*Delta is 65 hrs
*FedEx is 74 hrs
An extra 9 hrs per month!! ( 9 x 12 = 108 hrs more per year ) ouuch!

How about this - 1700 of 4000 of FDX pilots are making the highest CAPT pay rate. So when DALPA highlights our 777/747 rates realize that the majority of DAL Pilots will never even see that rate.

its one thing to confidentially understand negotiations may involve compromise for value achieved.
its another thing entirely to have the national chair of our $50 million a year CB agent make it a public admission before the process even begins.
any representative that operates with something other than the baseline understanding the delta pilot group has already conceded enough to last a lifetime......should be run out of town on a rail.

I'm going steal from chit chat
I would take the fed ex contract today...the value of their contract goes beyond their base payrates...which are good but not overwhelming.
Over 70 % of their planes pay the top rate vs 5% of ours....meaning far more pilots actually see the rate beyond just a dalpa slide
Conflict bidding with training and vacation
Higher vacation day and more vacation day accrural
Better and cheaper medical..what a thought
Better scope
Better dh rules
Better pension!
No pbs
No lca cutout
Better reroute pay
Better perdiem
Better over ride pay
The list goes on

We do have a copy of the TA, as of Aug 31st, and it does sound like what has been leaked. I'm going to reserve judgment until I get time to take a very close look at it. I don't know if there is going to be enthusiasm, negativity, or just a "meh" attitude, but probably a mix of all three. People on APC are extremely negative about it, however, based upon past votes, I don't know that proves it will be voted down.
I think there are a number of people who might vote for it based upon pay raises/bonuses (ie more senior people), but potentially a larger group of more junior, angrier people, who expected a better deal, that might vote it down.
I've always thought there were two FedEx's. One where people keep seat seniority, fly good trips, drop the trips they don't want, and are rested and happy. The other FedEx is where people are junior, flying terrible trips, are exhausted, are unable to or can't afford to drop trips, and feel abused. Some of it we do to ourselves, by upgrading as soon as possible, having non-working spouses, but an expensive lifestyle, commuting to challenging places, living in high COL areas. But seniority isn't always a choice, and sometimes life choices take over, against the things that seem easiest. I try to stay in the good FedEx, dropping the crappy trips, and not going for the money, but if you're stuck on reserve or are junior, you don't always have those options.

The good Delta and the bad Delta are like the good and bad Fedex. The difference is that now at Delta, we pick up those dropped trips to fund our retirement aspirations.
