Not until you have a contract. Your fun and games is just beginning. Expect QOL to go out the window till you have a CBA.

The positive nature of the brotherhood continues. Canoe, DALPA, FEDEX? Please strike with your jetblue brethren when we achieve a CBA in 2018 with a 10% raise. Watch Uncle Lee celebrate with more steak and wine as he touts our achievement. The new jetblue CEO will celebrate too. He just bought a free contract. 10% 4 years later = 0%-8% in ALPA dues. =(-8%)
Secondly, you are going to have to explain your math here a little better.
Say you negotiate a four year deal with a 5% payraise in the first year and nothing in the later three. I know this won't happen, this is just an example. Using your logic, Alpa dues would be -8% but your pay raise would be +20% over the same time frame for a net gain of 12%. If you are going to add up the dues you also have to add up the raise.

You shouldn't blindly trust ALPA; they need to be watched. But you shouldn't ever exclusively trust airline management. Ever.
Your future is up to you now. Get involved, volunteer, stay informed and avoid apathy.
Congrats to the JB pilots. Close to 75% is a great show of unity considering the previous drive was around half that. Is that enough to make all your hopes and dreams come true for only 1.9% dues for 2600 hands off line pilots looking the other way? Of course not.
But its a great foundation to build on if you stay informed and get involved. Despite the bonus monger management scorched earth threats, the sun will still rise tomorrow and even more of their lies will be exposed.
Go get em.

How is QQL going to be affected for pilots until a cba is reached. I'm a new hire and just nervous about what this will mean for reserves. I'm not complaining but just trying to figure out if I should move family from Indiana to Boston.

It won't change. We still all operate under our PEA's until a CBA is in place. They may be a little more literal I. Their interpretation of the FSM. But to say QOL is going to drastically change is just being dramatic.

Paranoia good sir.
If you go to work, do your job in accordance with company standards, you have nothing to worry about. If you believe the Demon Management is lurking in the coat closet, ready to pounce, you've got problems. ALPA provides support for those who believe they have been wrongly terminated. I will agree with that. Insurance. A stretch.

I don't know if things will change because of this vote, but either way you will have a much different experience as a commuter compared to someone who lives in base.
Yes it is pricey, but there are some nice and affordable areas within an hour or two of the airport. Good luck!
