Question about the B2 Spirit's interior

If you want to fly a lot, there is no way to get more PIC right away than as a UPT instructor. Those hours are for the young IMO, at my age sitting in a sauna with 1/4" of padding on top of a rocket seat is getting more and more difficult. Might be a little cooler in the T-6 and T-1. Fighters are fun but you will not get many hours, I think 150 is a good year these days but it's been a while since I've been operational so my time estimate might be a little off. Bomber guys are hit or miss, if they deploy they can rack up a lot of time, at home the flying is a bit more scarce. Every Buff pilot I've ever met hates his weapon system and community with a passion, I'd avoid that at all costs. The K and C-aircraft are totally variable but in general you'll get a lot of hours, but it will start as SIC.

IF an hours ho, FAIP then C or K. Lot of good IP time out of gate as a UPT instructor, as an Lt should be able to rock 500 a year. Depending which K/C you end up in, you'll be logging PIC within a few months of transition training. Can end a career with very little SIC time.

C-17 has a lot to offer is your looking for interesting flying and hour building. It can and does everything a C-130 does, like airdrop, low-levels, assault landings, NVG , and special ops, but also you get to air refuel which was always a challenge and fun. You'll definitely see the world at "Jet" speeds" to boot. Plus it has a stick and HUD for all the fighter pilot wana-bee types. Its really an excellent mix. Very responsive aircraft, its not like your flying a heavy, like a 135 or 141, or C-5. We had a couple of ex-fighter guys in my unit and they all loved the way the 17 flew.

Not knocking Barney, loved every minute of it. Would take it over a Herc every day of the week and twice on Sunday. But when I hear people say that, it's an unfair knock on the Herc. Call it like it is.
