Aerosim Sanford FL
#8
You will want to have your CFI-I. If you don't get it before you come down, you can get it through Aerosim either by paying out of pocket or signing a 12 or 18 month contract. It's not a bad deal if you plan on being here at least that long. Until you get a CFI-I ticket you are only able to work in the ancient Cessna fleet teaching short and soft-field landings and stalls. Be motivated and prepared to fly all day. If you're not used to it, it will beat you up the first couple times. Attitude is also very important. You've got to be able to putz around in a Cessna all day stomping on the right rudder and know that those hours are getting you to a better place, while still caring that the sweaty student beside you understands what you're trying to teach them. You think you know the basics of flying well? I guarantee you don't. Study study study and never stop. If you don't realize it already, you'll soon find out that a good pilot never stops learning. If you're always trying to improve your quality of instruction by teaching yourself, asking questions or seeking new ratings, it will show and you'll build a good reputation for yourself that could propel your career. Don't get complacent and never stop testing your own knowledge. The best way to succeed here is humble yourself before you even get on property and soak in everything you can. PM me if you have any more questions.
