Sort of related. Pilot vacancy bid awards.

CR7 CA - 4/2000 DOH
CVG CA - 12/2001 DOH
JFK CA - 11/2002 DOH

New hire FO could pretty much hold either base and within just a few months hold the 70/90.

Yeah but a class a month is not like what it was when I was hired and it was 4 classes a month, we were just counting each week how many people we had under us, and then BAM.....hiring slows..... I started class early may, been off IOE since beginning of August....Take a look at numbers on those transfers...... when people above you go to CVG, just as MANY if not more transfer in from MCO...so basically you stay in the same spot...I hope my math is off, but from what it shows I will be on reserve for a very long time

Lets just put it this way.. I was hired in on 1/15 completed IOE in april, sat a few months of reserve, held a line for two months, and now I'm one of the most senior reserve guys in JFK. Next month approx. 9 GSO guys are coming followed by 12 MCO guys in November. So I have gone from holding a line to being displaced 20 from a line in 2 months. As far as being on reserve forever..I could see that for anyone hired from May on. I would expect at least 9+ months company wide.

I knew this was going to happen, my math was right..... At least for you when the MCO guys come, a ton of FO's below you are leaving (my class, and the class ahead of me, like ALL of them)..... I shoulda got a crashpad, this driving up to Ny everyday to SIT is killing me

Hey guys don't get to down on this sitting around stuff. This is historically one of if not the slowest months for every airline.

Right around the time those MCO guys are supposed to transfer the block hours will start to pick up again for the holidays.

Also don't forget that yes those MCO guys are transferring, but the flying out of that base was not lost. The block hours from the base have to go somewhere.

If you look at the MCO bid packets for the last several months most of the trips started out or ended with a deadhead so basically the guys were deadheading to a JFK or CVG trip and picking up a baulk of their schedules in and out of the other bases.

So the block hours should follow the transfers.

I'm actually transferring back to CVG myself.. (I waited to this recent vacancy to bid back.) But looking at the movement- upgrades (most are all CVG FO's) and CVG 50 seat FO's transferring to the 70 seater... its looking like I'll move up roughly 30 some spots being pretty close to if not holding a line in CVG. But then again by that time I'll have been here a year too... so take it for whatever its worth.

I went back to CVG in june and have not been flying at al. 35 hours in July 20 in August. I have not flown since the 16th of August. I have not even sat a ready since then. I seem to be sitting right on the edge of getting a line. It seems like they are transfering more people to CVG but not giving anymore lines out. Then they go and change my L2 window to an A4 so I am sitting in a hotel for 2 days and not getting called...kinda sucks but oh well

At least your not sitting at a rest stop sleeping in the car like me....haha! Stupid NYC traffic 2 hour call is INSANE to make....even from Manhattan... I flew like 8 hours in August....Im not complaining but i just dont understand when some people from my class BROKE GUARENTEE and I flew 8 hours, just seems like there is NO logic

It's all based on call out order. I dont bid to fly and being senior on reserve I dont get any flights added at the beginning of the month. Being on L2 it is kind of limited on how they can use you. Also inverse order of seniority means I have around 50 people that are junior to me. And with the decrease in block hours it only means less flying. I wish they would of offered a COLA for CVG FO's like they did in JFK.
