Billy I know you are pretty thick skinned so I know you wont take this the wrong way, but when you go to AA as a flow, do you feel there will be a since of accomplishment or just kind of a non event? For the flow there is no real interview or standards of AA's you have to pass right?

My mainline interview and training was much easier than at the commuter I was at.

It's not a big accomplishment to get hired.

Interesting perspective. After getting a call and going through the whole United process with a job offer I felt it was a pretty big accomplishment. Sorry you don't feel that way. I bet 13,000 other regional, corporate, military guys waiting for an interview at a legacy or major would disagree that its not a big accomplishment.

No interview, but standards, yes. That's the same initial ground and flight training program everyone else has to. AA doesn't do a employment sim, so they have no idea what kind of pilot you are except historical data from your previous employers. Arguably, the info they can get from their wholly-owneds is more detailed, but they can't reject you on personality alone prior to investing in you, only after you demonstrate either attitude or ability (or both) won't cut it.

Good info! Was curious how the whole flow situation worked out. Cheers!

I work at a wholly-owned. And we happen to have some of the best compensation in the regional airline industry. Correlation =/= causation.

... and an airline that has no minimum day credit. Hourly rates are only a part of the equation. I'd say they're probably not even the biggest part.
