No interview, but standards, yes. That's the same initial ground and flight training program everyone else has to. AA doesn't do a employment sim, so they have no idea what kind of pilot you are except historical data from your previous employers. Arguably, the info they can get from their wholly-owneds is more detailed, but they can't reject you on personality alone prior to investing in you, only after you demonstrate either attitude or ability (or both) won't cut it.
