Default SWA Junior bases

I did a thread search and haven't seen any posts on what the junior SWA bases are since DEN was added. Is DEN senior or junior, or somewhere in between? Anyone willing to guess what the senior/junior bases will be once the merger is completely done?

Considering this recent initiative, DEN likely will go quite senior at WN.

Currently DEN is middle of the road - most Jr Capt spring 2003 hire / most Jr FO spring 2011 hire. Final "big picture" - DAL/HOU/MCO/BWI senior - DEN / MDW/PHX in the middle - LAS/OAK junior. ATL will start out a bit strange - only SWA hired Capt in the left seat until 2015 and a mix of SWA/AT FO's in the right seat.

For the bottom of the list at SWA, start on the West coast and move East and that's pretty close to what it is.

Looking at the bottom dude in each domicile the order right now is:

OAK, PHX, LAS, DEN, HOU, MCO, MDW, DAL, BWI

I didn't include ATL because it's going to be a long time before ATL stabilizes and regardless, it's probably going to be the first choice of many former AT pilots.

For Capt seniority it's a very different list.

FWIW, the "we're hiring next year" rumor is getting louder and louder.

Bahahahaha! The combined airline is fat on pilots. There's 88 717s going bye-bye, and the amount of retirements is nothing earth-shattering relatively speaking. I wish SW would be hiring, but I don't see that happening for a while.

On the other hand, at least there's an upgrade class of about 24 running every month. Funny, that's the same number of AirTran pilots transitioning monthly. What a coincidence.

What's the rumor these days on new domiciles. I heard a rumor that BNA may become a new base. Any truth to the rumor?

I haven't heard much lately. Kinda hoping the company will follow through with the erstwhile TPA domicile to take some heat off the east-coast guys. Then again, with all the buzz lately about FLL, I wouldn't rule it out.

OAK most jr, followed by PHX and LAS almost even. Then HOU and it's a crap shoot after that, you better hope you have 150 guys below to even hold another base...it does vary a bit by season and scheduling ups/downs but that's how it shakes out currently. For what it's worth MDW is the largest base (by # of pilots) and it's middle of the road to senior.

During the voting on the SLI. It was a carrot to get a few more "yes" votes.
