Every other day might come off as too agressive and needy. Maybe once a month, better thing to do is to try to make a call once a week untill they give you an interview date or tell you to stop calling. I'm going through the same thing and I know how you feel. I called this week, spoke with a live person, and will call this coming week to check up.
