Everything that I have heard shows that from day one Mesaba wanted DOH and Colgan wanted ratio. Considering that those were also their final positions, I'd say they didn't do much negotiating. I know Pinnacle at least started with something other than category class (I believe it was to merger 9e and 9l based on the date of 9l purchase then somehow integrate everyone else.) maybe they didnt move a lot to the center, but at least they threw other proposals based not on category/class.
