Im not an ERJ guy but had an interesting story.

A CAL guy who used to be in my crashpad was very creative and made his own. The box shape was a rigid material (maybe aluminum or abs) and then all pieces were covered in carbon fiber to both reinforce and give it a great look. He bought aluminum corner pieces for the bottoms and the rest of the hardware was from home depot. It looked real great and was sturdy.

I am thinking about going this route myself. I am confident it wont last a lifetime but if you do a good job it would be a nice sense of pride and a good conversation piece.
