I did all of my instructing part 61 so I may be mistaken, but it's my understanding that part 141 checkrides are called "stage checks". Apparently some people are under the impression that these failed "stage checks" will not be counted against them.

I would be careful about this though... I've personally seen two regional airlines that say they know about this and WILL be looking specifically for all failed checkrides, 141 or not. I've heard a few people were walked out after not disclosing this.
