There are many shades of grey in this. Unfortunately, as usual, the company is shooting with a scatter gun and seeing if anyone catching some of the fire has the stones to stand up to them.
There's the guy who takes the full move package, moves his wife and family over there (supposedly) and somehow his kids end up enrolled in a northwestern state's public school. That seems more black and less grey.
On the other hand, there's the single guy who moves there, gets a place but chooses to spend his days off in the USA with his squeeze. Last I checked, what we do on our days off isn't the business of anyone at Fedex. They can't make a pilot stay in Hong Kong when he's not working. It may look like he's commuting but as long as he makes his trips, I can't see what they can do about it.
