As far as the athletes spending their money.. I think that is not a problem. They are like lottery winners I think, a huge percentage of them go broke before it's all done. I'm sure you have a picture somewhere of LeBron in all his bling when he was right out of high school...
Well, researching Mr Cuban prior to my post, I must say he is a different breed and it's refreshing in several aspects including what you mentioned.
But that's how new big money is.
The stingiest people are the ones who earned every dime and have been taken to the cleaners usually by family and people in the inner circle. They trust nobody and don't spend money on anybody that won't make more money then they're worth. Hence why these people own $40 or $60 million dollar corporate jets and freak out on their pilots when they bought their second $35 vaccum in less than 4 years.
Or in my case as a corporate pilot, I rented a car for $45/day when I could've probably gotten one for $35. Kick me in the head please.
