They're worth every minute though. You know the first two months are hard but then one day they smile at you and you seriously just melt. You go from fearless guy to crippled with fear for them. Getting up 6 times a night, fine, as long as they're okay and breathing.

This lack of sleep and the screaming tirades are hard, but you'll accept them. The moment you realize they're so dependent upon you for safety and love it's, just, overwhelming. To the point even as a guy I get... "misty eyed"... if not cry when you think about some of the #@%@#%@# babies and kids go through in this world. It's a different experience that I could've never appreciated in full until after kids and your picturing your own child in that situation. It will make you so angry to read the news sometimes. It's a new and different experience.

but as my preacher says, when you look in that crib you see a child you'd lay your life down for, then years later they become teenagers and you don't even want them to have keys to the house.

FWIW, the start trying... ... sucker. Especially if you hear, "this could take months."

The days of being able to sleep til 10 or 11 while everyone goes to work. Too bad you can't bank sleep.

ah, boobs. lets talk about boobs for those who don't have kids. boobs make milk. the need to use them for milk starts within minutes of the trauma of child birth. from that point forward boobs and their nipples are tortured, bitten, swollen with milk till it hurts ,cracked, sucked violently through an industrial styled pump machine... the shock to the boob is overwhelming. And even nice big boobs pre-kids can become deflated after kids. Poor boobs. It's hell.
