If Pratt and Whitney offered a deal to Rolls Royce/JAEC/MTU on the remaining V2500's it's a possibility. A321's would do nothing for the pilot group so it's all moot. Also, this rotten "carrot" has been dangled for years often during key periods.
On the subject of buying, I see more likelyhood of Jetblue being bought.
