Take a look at SW's costs on a stage length adjusted basis for like aircraft and you will see that Delta is going to have a problem. We will see if our management team is up to the task. Their decisions in the next few years and the overall customer service we provide will be critical to the future of Delta.
What the hell is the purpose of this kind of ridiculous fear mongering?

Really? Good grief man, yeah they might beat us there, but our network and asset pool is so much greater than theirs. Your little missive totally discounts any of that. Do you have a stat for paint jobs and how they relate to RASM too? If DAL management handles this properly, (and I have no reason to think they won't) SWA will be just another airline. You can conjour up any kind of stupid metric to make our case look bad if you look hard enough. gaaaaaah
