ALPA needs to not just "look into" this but actually do something about it.
From what I've seen...ACARS will show out with beacon on and ALL doors closed on initial brake release. You can then reset the brake and still be "out."

ACARS will show "in" when the boarding door is opened, but the time will coincide with THE LAST setting of the parking brake before the door opens. Read between the lines!
