You could do what that little ALPA LCC on the C and D gates does; If the door is closed you get paid ....

Tell RA that if you're not getting paid and the APU decides to burst into flame, you'll quietly gather your belongings, call him and walk off the airplane.

He gets paid for all of his duties. Right ?
