?? The 757/767 does have an intercom. It's the same one you talk to the ground crew with. We just don't use it between pilots..
I'm talking live mic, so that you're not struggling to hear a deaf mumbler over your headset and his speaker. The rjs had a on/off switch, wanna talk select on, mouth breather at cruise? Turn it off.
Also lent you to the ability to talk in the other guys ear while he was making a PA...
