It does 2 things:
1.It makes sure that the pilot can fly an ILS app.(basic 101 stuff) prior to coming to training.
2.Creates the SJS early on,so when the new hire gets the ATR right of the bat, his or her dreams will get shattered. The fact is that at 500hr he-she cant even fly a prop,worse yet a shiney new jet.

hahahaha...classic. Make sure the pilot can fly an ILS...what a joke!! Might want to start off with basic tracking first or how to intercept radials and then work them into the harder ILS type stuff later
