I think the fall reduction and possible developments on the United scope issue are forcing ASA's staffing needs. I am not optimistic for xjt/asa keeping every current airframe flying into this time next year. This mainline reduction due to a weak economy and high fuel prices might delay mainlines from hiring. They are gambling that we will be properly staffed come the fall but even if we are not they will just roll days off, reassign, or cancel the flights and blame it on pilots anyway. It is a win win for them.

We haven't given them (management) a good enough of a reason to staff this place properly.
