I would pursue flight instructing in your case because it will give you more experience and you will be able to prepare your students for the mishaps that you have been through. I know some air carriers are hiring low timers, but with the 5 failures you will be filtered out from the rest. Most 121 airlines can fill a room full of applicants with squeaky clean records. It puts you in a bind for now. However, don't give up and be patient. Things look pretty gloomy right now, but it will change. The hiring in the industry is always changing. Legacy carriers such as Delta want a college degree. But it's funny to see that requirement thrown out the window when they need people. There are many other areas of flying other than the airlines. I personally do not want to fly for the airlines. If your heart is set on flying 121 then stick it out and don't give up. I want to pursue 135 cargo and it is even more challenging than button pushing an RJ. I wouldn't worry about the license suspension thing, we were all young at one point. Let some time pass and gain some more experience, when the next wave rises ride it to your first 121 gig.

Also, keep your record clean. No more tickets or any of that nonsense. I have a misdemeanor that is 10 years old that I have to answer for. Right now that disqualifies me from 121 because I would be filtered from the squeaky clean crowd. Your 5 failures are doing the same for you now.

Just keep on truckin' til things look up........ Good Luck
I really appreciate the positive feedback,

I am not entirely set on 121 however it seems as though for my lifestyle its the best bet... I like so many others would love the FEDEX job or the UPS job but that will be a long while if ever.

Last night i done some real soul searching, i have never once questioned my abilities as a pilot, ive never been told anything but that i am a great pilot, i know alot of instructors will blow smoke up your rear but i have instructors go out of their way to tell me how much easier it is to fly with me than most students.

These failures do not represent me as a pilot and in my soul searching last night i couldnt fall off the one conclusion that this does not and will not define me.

For those who say i should evaluate if this is the career for me... My evaluation has been going on since i was 5 years old and it absolutely is, and i have the skills and dedication to prove it. My record is bad right now and i hope time and a demand for pilots will heal that but for the time being, i am going for my CFI, II and MEII in the coming months.

I have already aced both CFI written exams with no issues and while this alone will not prove a change in maturity and professionalism i hope to have all my checkrides and future written tests to look the same way.

Again i appreciate ALL replies positive and negative a like, I have decided that i am going to go full bore into this, pray about it, and see where life takes me.
