The problem is, who thought 10 or so years ago that we would be faced with 70+seat RJ's with two class seating and crews paid welfare wages? That is management's wet dream. Even frequent flyer friends of mine don't mind the big RJ's. They like the 2x2 seating, etc. The serious problem and bottom line is twofold......1. The mainline guys need to stand firm and hold the line when it comes to scope issues....and 2. RJ guys need to DEMAND more for what they do, which is essentially the same job we all do, just on smaller aircraft. If we have RJ pilots willing to work at 18 or 20 $ an hour (co-pilots of course) and captains willing to work for not much more, WE ARE ALL SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on EVERYONE.......Let's get what we ALL deserve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little Animal House humor to drive my point home. Let's go boys and girls, the time is now. RJ's need to be paid respectable wages if mainline guys are to be paid respectable wages. That is the reason management LOVES THE RJ'S SO MUCH! RJ guys can't just say they are with us, they need to be the ones to shut it down! Won't ever happen though........and there in lies the problem. Sorry all, I am on a rant and will go have another beer and shut up now. Peace.

220, 221......whatever it takes!
This is why scope should be 100%. If it is a flight on a UniCon ticket or the aircraft is painted in UniCon colors then the pilots must be on the UniCon pilot list, PERIOD.

Each airline should only be allowed one certificate to operate with thier own paint job and single pilot list by FAR. I know pipe dream. That way if passengers are flying on subcontracted work they will notice the different paint and maybe ask questions. Like, "If I paid for a Continental aircraft and experienced crew, why am I flying on JOE BOB'S Airservice/Flight school?"
