The only thing that stopped me is the fact that I'm 55 and if my frozen pension is terminated in a follow-on bankruptcy, I'd rather still have the option to work another 10 years to make up for no retirement.

I actually love my job and feel privileged every time I sit in the left seat of the 747. My discontent is with our current flight operations management and the resulting bottom numbers in passenger satisfaction with us. We have the tools to get better, but our managers continue to stubbornly cling to their plan...whatever that is. It's also sad to see that any increases in our next contract will likely come from Delta pilots fighting our own union as hard as management.
