Default Cash On The Decline

I'm old, I prefer cash and I carry cash with me at all times. I have cash tucked into unusual places in my purse, the house, the car, my husband. I have cash stashed in the safe deposit box. In 1980, my Mom gave me a brand new crisp $20 bill. I placed it inside my favorite paperback. Years later, I wondered why I ever thought that paperback was any good so decided to donate it to Goodwill. Luckily, I flipped through the yellowed pages first and found that $20 bill. I put that bill into my new favorite paperback. When my beloved dog (see avatar ) was still alive, I used to attach a small bag of change to his collar before going on walks. No juvenile delinquent was brave enough or stupid enough to grab that money from my dog!

I love cash. I don't know why anyone wouldn't love it.

What I don't like is standing behind some clown at a convenience store struggling with his stupid debit card trying to buy that $2.00 bag of Doritos. I hope eating all that junk food will kill him and take him out of the gene pool.

I love cash. I particularly love $20s and $100s. $50s don't do anything for me though.

The New York Times is wrong (again). Cash will always have a place in the economy. All those drug cartels can't be all wrong.

From The New York Times:

WASHINGTON — The number of dollar bills rolling off the great government presses here and in Fort Worth fell to a modern low in the last fiscal year. Production of $5 bills also dropped to the lowest level in 30 years. And for the first time in that period, the Treasury Department did not print any $10 bills.
