Norm,

I have to disagree with your perception statement. I'm not saying we have the greatest reputation in the business. However, the product we provide works well for many people, as is evident by the overwhelming number if full airplanes. I am not ashamed to work for Spirit. We are a growing company that provides air travel to a segment of the population that may not otherwise be able to afford it. Unfortunately, along with that comes very few of the amenities that have long been associated with air travel( first class, free drinks and snacks, etc.). We work for an airline that makes money, even in the toughest of economic times. Could we improve in some areas, definately. I think we are way better than we were a few years ago though, and hopefully we will continue to improve. To say that we walk around with our badges turned backwards is nonsense! If you do, then perhaps you should reevaluate where you want to work. Look, Spirit is what it is. We will never be American or Delta or Continental. Anyone that is working here waiting for it to become that is delusional. I am happy to work here though. I wear my badge facing out, as do most of us.

For anyone interested in applying, the pay is average, the quality of life is the best in the business, and the pilot group is awesome. You take all the rest in stride.
