Seriously, when I got out of the Marine Corps, I would have gone to Law School. Dead serious. This profession has changed so much in the past 10 years, it's almost not worth pursuing. Just look at the erroded salaries, work rules, pensions, benefits, travel "benefits", etc.
We all love to fly and that's great but unless you land a
very special flying position, it's not worth the hastle. Fly for fun and make some money doing something else you are passionate about.

The legal profession is in the dumps right now too though. The only thing that they have that we don't is that the majority of the country's legislators came from a legal background and not an aviation background so they can continue to create their own work as needed.
