The F-111 could do that dump and burn thing, the EMB-120's APU did it too. You knew it was coming by watching the APU start and watching the EGT. Sometimes you warned the rampers, sometimes you let them run screaming. The poor Beech 1900D guys in Houston had no APU and horrific cooling. The EMB-120 had an APU so we could push the hot air around a lot like a 12" fan in a large attic in the middle of an Atlanta 105 degree summer day. You could do a 7 leg day worth 5 or 6 hours.
