My advice is get a 22" bag--no problem deadheading, easy to deal with. I'm corporate and go out for two weeks with a 22" Briggs & Riley and a hanging bag. Carries on nearly anywhere except Shenyang, China carries enough and I use an iPad for charts and pubs.

The LW and similar bags are grossly overweight and hard to handle.
