Although I don't really care what the name of my company is, I don't know if it is possible to satisfy the majority of 10K employees in any name change scenario. When I interviewed at ASA and chose ASA after a few offers, my determining point had nothing to do with the name ASA. Point is, I think it's more important to be concerned with QOL, pay, and the future of my job then feeling cool when I tell someone who I work for.

Naming this company is important but I think there are much bigger issues that have nothing to do with the name of these two companies merging.

But we will see I guess. This is just my opinion as I wanted to add to the discussion. No offense intended. Sorry if I did.
The name does matter. It sets a foundation for a company, and a since of unity/pride throughout a workforce. To dismiss this and say we should be concentrating on QOL etc isn't even an argument. Obviously you care enough to to read this posts, and contribute your own opinion.
I doubt anyone took offense, no apology needed.
