I didn't like it when then company said it either.

For either union to refer to itself or the other group as subsidiary is just buying into management's playbook, of recasting this company as something other than an airline, and therefore the pilots as something less than the most critical part of the operation.

Perhaps I jumped the gun here as this is very much a great day for both groups. For CAL to get some much needed relief in staffing, and for UAL to get some jobs returned.

The "subsidiary" was not necessary in this rare good news blast mail, nor is it desired in any reference to our pilot groups. We are all one now, right?
