I know you'd prefer nothing more than DPA supporters spending all their energies on the fool's errand of trying to fix ALPA through ALPA's "processes". Your angst is that we recognize this latest request of your ilk as the fool's errand that it is. That won't change. You should thank us for planning to have a union in place when ALPA bleeds out from its own self-inflicted wounds.

Fine. I'm dead serious and all I keep getting are excuses. Keep up the momentum of doing nothing but complaining. It helps make my decision less difficult.
What Carl and the other DPA crowd are telling all of us who have not signed cards (and even those who have signed cards):
"The DPA way will be better than the ALPA way, but we won't show that to you through any type of action. Just believe us. As a supporter we're not going to get off our duffs and do ANYTHING substantial to convince the pilots that the DPA path is better for them except we promise we will just keep talking and talking to anyone that will listen that ALPA sucks and that it is broken and we don't want to fix what we can in the meantime until we have enough cards to hold a formal vote. In the meantime we won't try to fix anything at all to help Delta Pilots.
WE won't do anything to show them that the DPA that we support to do the bidding of the entirety of Delta pilots is even slightly capable of organizing and implementing positive changes. We will continue to complain though, we promise that."
Carl, I applaud your view on recapturing and protecting scope, and restoration of this career. We are completely on the same page in those respects.
I would think that improving the lives and structure of the way the union represents the pilots of Delta Air Lines would be the goal, no matter what name is on the letterhead. I guess I was wrong.
Lastly, mark my words, IF by some chance DALPA becomes DPA, it will be due to an assessment for TWA failures from a decade ago, NOT because of failure at the LEC/MEC level.
