I prefer to think of it as what I am willing to do the job for. If they don't want to pay me what I think I am worth then they can, and probably will, find someone else to do it cheaper. I turned it down too, but just stop and think about it...
Thing is that the $37/hr is
$4/hr more than UAL and $6/hr more than CAL pays. This is
WRONG, and it our own fault. We should never let the ALPA seniority system become that skewed. Under this logic we should have refused our UAL jobs in the first place on this bases as well.
We are the ones that have continued to devalue pilots. Management has been all too happy to let us do this.
We need to fix this and start building ALPA pay scales from the ground up.
